Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple is located in the island town of Rameshwaram which is connected to the mainland via Pamban Bridge. The Rameshwaram Temple is one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India and thousands of devotees come here to worship Lord Shiva. The temple is associated with Lord Rama because he came here to worship Lord Shiva, on their way back to Ayodhya, after his successful rescuing of Goddess Sita after killing demon Ravana.

Rameshwaram Temple Dress Code Rules

There is no specific Dress Code for Rameshwaram Temple. There is a restriction on wearing Jeans and T-Shirts in the Temple, especially for men. You can wear a vest and Shirt or can wear Formals like Shirt and Pant. But it is advisable to not wear the vest while going inside the temple but you can carry them in hand for later use. For males, Dhoti is advisable.

Even when you are wearing the vest, you are not allowed to enter the Temple premises if you are in the wet Dress. So you have to carry an extra Dress to wear after the Teertha Snana.

For the female, wearing Saree and Churidars is advisable. Sometimes Temple not allow women without a Stoll (Dupatta) covering the upper part of their body. They are prohibited from entering the Shrine.

You are not allowed to keep your Mobile Phones with you. There are shops outside the Temple to lock your Mobile Phones safely.
