Vaishno Devi Temple Jammu Trek
Located on the Altitude of 5,300 feet, Vaishno Devi Temple which is situated in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir is one of the popular pilgrimages in the country. If you wish to visit Vaishno Devi Temple then it involves a trek of around 13 km from the Base Camp at Katra. It is estimated that the Bhavan gets over 8 Million visitors every year. Treking to the Temple is not very easy.
Ways to Reach Vaishno Devi Trek
There are two ways to reach the Temple, one way is the pathway, and the other is via Stairs. The pathway is a bit longer but the road is well-maintained. Using this path alone, it will take around 6 – 7 hours to reach the Vaishno Devi Temple. But it still depends on how healthy and fit you are.
Vaishno Devi Trek Stairs Climbing
The stairs path is shorter but it is more challenging. One particular stair path has about 529 steps before you reach an exit and you have to be physically fit to finish this one path. Besides that, the stairs can be very steep. It depends on your strength and stamina as well. It will take 5 to 6 hours to reach the Temple through this path.
Just in the midway, you will reach the Ardh Kuari. This is about 7 km from Base Camp. There’s also a cave that you can visit. Pilgrims are given tokens for the visit, to control the flow of people. Wait time is around 3 hours before you can start your journey again. If you want to save time, you can skip Ardh Kumari.
However, if you decide to stop here, then you have to add additional hours to your journey, so it would take around 11 to 12 hours to reach the Holy Cave.
The Temple is open from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. So You can trek either in the morning or in the evening. The advantage of trekking during the morning is that you’ll be able to see the views.
But it can be quite hot. The benefit of trekking in the evening is that it will be cooler. But you will not be able to see the amazing views in the route.
