Shirdi Dixit Wada Museum Location Distance Timings

Dixit Wada Museum is of the must place to visit in Shirdi. It Showcases a number of black and white pictures of Sai Baba. The Dixit Wada Museum appeals to the devotees of Sai Baba. The museum also has a number of personal belongings of the Baba, like his pipe, robes, gramophone records, leather footwear,  and cooking utensils. You will not face much crowd inside the Museum, so there is no need to deal with it, and you can browse around the museum.

This Museum was set up by Kakasaheb Dixit and was established on Ram Navami in the year 1911 with the permission of Baba. He came to Baba on the suggestion of someone, when he developed a low self-esteem post injuring his leg. After meeting the Sai Baba, he was deeply touched and went on to become one of his most prominent devotees.

After the museum was built, Dixit took up the place for residence in a small room on the first floor and left the rest of the building for the use of the devotees. The people say that Hemadpant, the author of ‘Sat Sai Charitra’, always stayed here, whenever he visited Shirdi. The museum was served as a canteen till the mid-1990s, and now got converted into a museum fairly recently. The temple committee is also planning to expand on the collection of museum artifacts.

This museum is located in the temple trust complex, opposite Gurusthan. You can walk to Dixit Wada Museum. There is no entry fee for the Museum.
